Jeremy Humpherville, owner of Coastal Carvings Gallery in Coombs, BC, was born and raised on Haida Gwaii, on the Northwest Coast of British Columbia. He has inherited his artistic talents through several generations of his fathers family. His uncle, Ken Humpherville, and brother Jerett are also accomplished carvers.

From a young age Jeremy developed a great appreciation for his native surroundings. The diverse wildlife of the Queen Charlotte Islands is apparent in his art. Since his teenage years he has worked with red and yellow cedar and alder wood. He apprenticed with master carver Henry Green and master tool maker Eli Milton, learning techniques of carving and forging in the traditional style. Jeremy has created stunning panels, masks, bowls, paddles, bentwood boxes and sculptures.

Jeremy's work has been displayed throughout Europe as well as in shows and galleries in North America. He was the art sponsor for the President William J. Clinton Gala fundraiser in support of the British Columbia Children's Hospital Foundation.

It is an honour and a privilege for me to be collaborating with such a fine artist and gentleman.
